My Deluxe MailList & Address Book |
In the mid 80's I started using the then new PC for keeping track of my contacts and producing mailing lists and labels that were quite basic but the state of the art at that time. DOS made mailing list software an application that only seasoned computer users could readily use. The printers were dot matrix for the most part and laser printers were many thousands of dollars.
When Microsoft Windows appeared, the process became simpler but not yet ready for prime time computing and the general public.
As each version of Windows appeared on the market, address programs evolved along with the Windows OS. They were easier to use but still a bit dicey. I personally switched between programs and settled on Parsons Technology's Address Book.
I used this program until 2000 when the publisher dropped the products from its offerings. I happened to see My DeluxeMailList & Address Book on a shelf at Office Max. The program listed for $19.95 which was the price I had paid for the Parsons product. The features of the program were exactly what I was looking for.
I contacted the publisher, and decided to review the deluxe version which is similar to the Standard Version but also includes a Bulk Mail capability. Unless you do bulk mailings the Stand Version will suffice for most individuals and small businesses.
I was able to export the data from my old Address Book Program in comma delimited form and easily import it into My DeluxeMailList & Address Book.
The screen shot shown above is the program's main screen ready to input a new address. The column on the left shows the contacts I have already created. Letter headings from A-Z are also displayed which will help you to quickly locate an address.

You can also search for any text within a listing. Let's suppose you want to
find a person with the first name of Joyce who works for a company whose
name you don't remember. Simply select the find option listed in the edit menu choice and type in "Joyce" and select the field for first names. In a mere second Joyce is located and the record is highlighted. What could be easier? |

Need mailing labels? My Deluxe MailList & AddressBook allows you to create
labels in all popular formats--Nebs. Avery, etc. You can easily add graphics to the labels as shown on the right. In addition you can print addresses directly on envelopes and postcards. If you have an existing database of names and addresses, My Deluxe MailList & AddressBook is able to |

work with your data to produce either labels or direct addressing which conforms to the United States Postal Service P.A.V.E. Standard. The program is also CASS capable on a subscription basis.
The program can also print Postnet Bar Codes as well. If you are a user of bulk mailing then My Deluxe MailList & AddressBook is a must have program. It can save you considerable money and allows you to easily presort your mail in accord with postal requirements.
There is a National Address with Zip code Numbers on the CD that makes lookups simple.
The above screen shows
a typical client record. The program can be used as a basic contact management
tool, but it has a limited capability. New fields can be added however and
unless you
have a need for in-depth reports and greater search & sort capabilities it will
serve the purpose adequately.

The program combines ease of use with tremendous power.
If you need a serious mail management program, My Deluxe MailList & AddressBook is an excellent choice. It lists for the unbelievably reasonable price of $49.95.
The Standard Edition lists for $19.95.
