Essential Data Insurance!

Let's face it, everyone who uses a computer needs an anti virus program. My choice through for the past 20 years has been Norton AntiVirus.

Have I ever gotten a Virus?

The answer is a definite yes. The past year there were numerous attempts to penetrate my computer by various Virus attacks. Norton AntiVirus immediately alerted me to the fact that a virus was attempting to invade my computer. It identified the virus and removed it.

So you're thinking, "I never use shareware, I don't borrow disks from anyone, and I don't download files from the Internet!"

If you are on a network, it really doesn't matter because someone else may introduce a virus into the network and zap your machine. Even if you just used commercial software, there have been several instances where a virus was planted by a disgruntled employee, or somehow "mysteriously" appeared and attached itself to an expensive commercial program that a lot of unhappy purchasers had the misfortune to install on their machine.

If you are accepting e-mail from the web, attachments can carry any number of viruses. In fact, this is the most common cause of virus entry onto computers today. Roughly 35% of know virus attacks come through e-mail attachments with 30% coming from disks that are loaded onto work computers from a home computer.

With thousands of identified viruses and new viruses appearing each week, why take a chance that your machine will become infected. For under $40.00 you can add the peace of mind that Norton AntiVirus will be on the job protecting you against any known variety of virus, and new ones that are introduced daily.

Early in my computing career, there were a number of benevolent viruses. They would pop up over your work and wish you a Merry Christmas and/or a happy new year then disappear. The viruses quickly went from being   friendly to becoming fiendish. The viruses began to attack computers destroying valuable data and requiring dozens of hours to restore the systems they attacked.

Norton AntiVirus was introduced a decade or so ago. I have used it since it's inception with the result that I have never lost data due to a virus attack.

Like the common cold, all of us stand a terrific chance in contracting a virus. Who doesn't surf the net today? There are vast numbers of terrific shareware files and hosts of other files we read and download. According to the National Computer Security Association the number of virus attacks has grown exponentially and you are 20 times more likely to contract a virus than you were three years ago.

Are you paranoid yet?

I use Norton AntiVirus because like all Norton products I used over the years it is by far the simplest and most reliable product on the market today. As I mentioned, it   worked for me twice, and continues to work for me every day.

I am an Internet Junkie! I'm constantly downloading this and that. I wouldn't dream of being on the Web without my PC being guarded by Norton AntiVirus. Norton has the most comprehensive library of virus information, which is updated daily. If you are on the Web you can use LiveUpdate which is part of all Norton programs to keep your virus protection up-to-date.

Norton AntiVirus 2004 works in the background. It is invisible to the user. You are only aware that it is there on boot up and if a virus attack occurs.

In the event of an attack, a screen will appear and guide you through the process of safeguarding you computer and getting rid of the virus.

Key Program Features

The screen shot shows the status of my system relating to a potential virus attack. As you can see, the program detected one virus intercept and two attempts to install Spyware on the system. The detection is automatic. To eliminate the threat, just hit the finish button in the lower right and both problems are eliminated before they can cause trouble. What could be more easy or convenient?

Never-the-less, Norton Anti Virus is still guarding my system. Using the program is highly instinctive with just a click or two your Virus protection is brought up to date.

Schedulable LiveUpdate

The screen shot shown above is the Live Update Feature. This feature is the one I depend on to keep new viruses at bay. I schedule my computer to obtain the latest virus definitions automatically. Just tell the computer when you want to have LiveUpdate go to the Norton Web Site to obtain the latest virus definitions and the rest is automatic. The latest virus protection is added to the program in minutes. The product is constantly updated throughout it's life. With 10 to 15 new viruses being introduced each day, LiveUpdate is absolutely an essential feature of a virus program. You will be reminded periodically that your virus definitions need updating.

Rescue Disks

If your computer is attacked or a file is corrupted, you can choose to prepare a set of Rescue Disks which will get your computer up and running again. An Emergency Boot Disk Comes with the program and will allow you to start up the computer and run Norton AntiVirus 2004 to eliminate any virus that may be present.

The program installs easily and once installed runs invisibly in the background.
How can you afford to be without the protection and peace of mind this program offers for a mere $39.95?
